Beta?

What’s all this ‘Beta’ business then?

Remarkable how the tech world can get away with it but basically ‘Beta’ means “Not quite ready!”. A shocking admission but true.

Beta sites tend to be ‘in development’, a euphemism for "not working properly!!" and are online so that people can get a feel for the content and test out how it all works. Here at WeLikeArtists.com we are currently “not quite ready” but wanted to have the site up and running for a few reasons:

We just couldn’t wait to get it visible.
We are ‘noodling’ around in the dark recesses of the site trying to break it (on purpose) so that you don’t end up doing it (by accident).
Stressing about some of the places where things appear and how best to make them readable.
Worrying about colours - hell - don’t get a bunch of artists involved with something of this magnitude - they can’t deal with colour choice at the best of times.

What all this means to you - well, it may be that when you next visit, some bits and pieces have moved, changed colour, disappeared completely, been rewritten or just work in a different way.

We don’t want to completely remake the site, but we do want it to be fantastic, easy to move around and great to use so, ‘tweaking’ is in progress.

If you fancy knowing when we are no longer “not quite ready”, then pop your name in our e-mail newsletter box and we will ‘toot our horn’ just as soon as we drop the ‘Beta’ and become a 'proper' site!

Feedback

Part of Beta testing is to try and get feedback so, if there is anything you find here which is a mess, doesn't work, is unclear, idiotic, pathetic, useless or 'grates' a little, we would love to hear from you. Together we can make this brilliant.
