Invisible Hand websiteInvisible Hand - if you spend time trawling the Internet for bargains, this little application will save you hours of stress by doing it for you.

You simply download a small plugin for your favourite browser and the program sits there ready to spring into action when you go looking for items to buy.

If, for example, you find something on Amazon you are interested in purchasing, Invisible Hand goes off, in the background, and checks the price for that item at a number of different websites, then gives you a price comparison list!

We have been using it for a few months now and, quite frankly, completely forgot about it being there until we were looking for staples (boring we know but we still need them for the office!), and it found just what we were looking for at a cheaper price.

It isn’t foolproof as it only checks a selected set of sites and you may still be able to find products cheaper on a site which isn’t part of their database.  Also make sure you check postage costs for the items as this can change the final price.

If you are not too concerned about having this little programme know what you are shopping for, then it could save you some serious money for studio and office materials - in fact anything you may need to buy online.

They calculate that they have found savings of over 12 million pounds. It works with Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer in the USA, UK and Germany, with around 121 retailers.
