Blogs

Quite frankly, the world has gone blog mad!  There are something like 175,000 new ones being launched each day. That's a lot of insignificant 'drivel' but, if you are smart you can use blogging to promote yourself, your exhibitions, your work or as a basic, free, website.

We know artists who use them to promote individual exhibitions or new projects. They are also a simple and effective way of collaborating on an event, as several people can upload and edit material. You can also make them private, so only people collaborating on them can see the content.

Blogs work slightly differently from normal websites in that content is 'chronological', meaning that the most recent item (text, photo, video) you place on your blog is shown at the top of the site, with older information moving down the page. This may be just the way you want it as you 'post' new work, designs, products.

Have a look at a selection of some of the simplest and most effective blog platforms and remember - they are all completely free and you don't need any technical knowledge, or fancy programming information, to make them work for you.
