If, like us, you have struggled to send large files to people you are working with, exhibition curators and printers this might be useful.
youSendit.com allow you to send very large files (or small ones as well) to anyone with an email address and, what is different from other cloud computing sharing services we have already listed here, is that the person you are sending to doesn’t have to have anything special set up.
You can have a free (forever) account with youSendit which gives you 2GB of cloud storage and the ability to send files up to 50 MB! Our email provider has a limit of 3MB and sometimes that just isn’t enough,
Using the service is simple - Log into your account, add the email address of the person you want to send the file to, add a message, select the file from your computer and decide if you want to send a temporary link to that file, which expires 7 days later, or place it in a shared folder indefinitely, then click ‘Send It’.
An email is sent to the recipient containing a button for them to access and download the file. That simple. The recipient doesn’t have to sign up to anything, it is fast, easy and works.
So, save yourself a little time and frustration by not messing about trying to send large files via email and give this one a go.
There are, naturally, paid upgrades to the free account which allow you to store and send even larger files, track the delivery process and decide when the download link expires. Try it out and see if the upgrades are useful for you.
