Picnik

Picnik - in its original form was set up as an online images editor in 2005. It has recently been acquired by Google (is there anything they don’t buy?). That said, it is a flexible and effective way of editing and enhancing your digital photos.

This seems very much aimed at the consumer market with easy red-eye removal and the addition of effects. The basic service is free, but they do three premium, paid for, services with more advanced editing tools, no advertisements and more effects.

The free version may be just what you need for a spot of quick editing and you don’t need to register with them to use it.
